All-new Photo Gallery Date added: 25/10/09

2009 Meetings Programme Date added: 13/04/09
The BLBS in Scotland's meetings programme is now online, complete with printable version. You should also have received this year's official BLBS Calendar of Events through the post by the end of this week.
Changes to BLBS insurance cover Date added: 26/9/08
At the Society's AGM in Burnham on 20th September, the BL-BS committee announced to general satisfaction among members that the Society is adjusting its Rules of Shooting to "get back to basics". To this end, the Society will concentrate its activities on those forms of archery which the BL-BS was formed to try and preserve: two-way target and clout shooting. Our Society insurance was due for renewal this month and as of this week, the BL-BS insurance will not cover roving marks, flight or standard arrow shooting. Other than this, the insurance cover will remain as it was for bow meetings organised by the BL-BS and activities run by BL-BS affiliated clubs including come and tries and arrangements for beginners.

Albion, Harvest Clout photos online Date added: 12/9/08
Photos from this year's Scottish Albion and Harvest Clout meetings are now online thanks to Hugh McBrien, Fede Valls and Nigel Steward, a passing spectator who kindly sent in some photos for the site.
Harvest Clout venue change Date added: 5/9/08
CHANGE OF VENUE: the Harvest Clout on Sunday 7th September will not now take place at Stair as advertised. It will now be held in the Craigend Field at Mugdock Country Park. All other arrangements remain the same.
Wand Meeting photos Date added: 31/8/08
Thanks to Fede, photos from this year's Silver Arrow Wand Meeting at Mugdock Country Park are now online on the Photo Gallery.
Wand Meeting venue changed Date added: 16/8/08
Due to a bereavement, the Silver Arrow Wand Meeting on Sunday 24th August will no longer be held at Gardrum House, Fenwick. Instead, this year's meeting will be held in the Craigend Field at Mugdock Country Park.
Clout Championships photos online Date added: 10/08/08
Fede has sent in photos from this year's Scottish Clout Championships at Culzean which are now available on the Photo Gallery.
Come and try longbow archery at the Kilmore Highland Games Date added: 20/07/08

Celtic Meeting photos online Date added: 22/06/08
Pictures are now online from this year's two Celtic Meeting events - the Celtic Clout at Culzean (won by Scotland) and the Ailsa Trophy Match in Belfast (won by All-Ireland). As ever, they can be found on the Photo Gallery.
Revised Events Guide Date added: 25/05/08
All members should now have received a copy of the revised 2008 BL-BS Events Guide. To avoid confusion, please discard the earlier version and refer only to the new one for information about this season's meetings. If you haven't yet received a copy, let Hugh know. And if you spot any errors in the new one, let us know and we'll start a new list of corrections!

BLBS Events Guide errata and updates Date added: 03/04/08
The 2008 Events Guide contains a number of inaccuracies and a number of details have changed since its publication. If in doubt about details for any meeting, please contact the appropriate organiser.

2008 BLBS season starts with Spring Forward Clout Date added: 30/03/08
The BLBS' 2008 season was kicked off today at Mugdock by the 19 members attending the Spring Forward Clout Meeting (named in honour of the blearly-eyed members who usually turn up late after losing an hour of sleep to Daylight Savings).

More dates confirmed for 2008 Date added: 17/01/08
Most of the 2008 dates and venues for official BLBS meetings in Scotland have now been confirmed, and are now available on the official programme page. Watch this space for further updates.
Culzean dates for 2008 confirmed Date added: 09/12/07
The dates for official BLBS events to be held at Culzean in 2008 have been confirmed. They are:
  • Sat 10 May - Zingari Meeting - Fountain Court
  • Sun 08 June - June Clout - Events Field
  • Sun 6th July - come and try as part of Culzean's Celebrate Ayrshire Day
  • Sat 09 Aug - Scottish Clout Championships - Events Field
  • Sat 06 Sept - Scottish Albion - Fountain Court
All other dates and venues for 2008 are currently still to be confirmed.
