Email Address Encrypter
Ever wondered how spammers get your email address? Spammers can often use programs called 'spambots' which trawl through the Web looking for email addresses to 'harvest' and send back to the spammers, who then promptly send you 1,273,834 adverts for Viagra. For starters.
Javascript can be used to create HTML mailto links that aren't detectable by spambots, because they're encoded in such a way that they can't easily be read by an automated program.
Unfortunately, not everyone can write in JavaScript. Fortunately, you can use this handy tool to generate your own spam-proof links. Just copy the code generated by the form below and paste it into your web document in place of a mailto tag. Or, even better, download and use the standalone version (version 3 of which was released on 19/8/2007).

Latest update: version 3 (19/8/2007)
This is a standalone version of the applet above. It's useful if you use it regularly or while offline. This is the third version of this program and supports saving and loading addresses, amongst other things. Java version 6 is required.
